HOW TO SAVE TIME AND MONEY WITH THE INSTANT POT
Pressure Cooker Chia Water is full of protein, fiber, and antioxidants

Chia Water is loaded with fiber, protein, and good for you fats, and now you can make it yourself with the help of your Pressure Cooker AKA Instant Pot.

Chia Water appears to be all the rage lately, but unfortunately it is also outrageously expensive!  In a desperate attempt to get my husband to stop drinking energy drinks, I kept my mouth shut when he started buying $4 bottles of chia water.

But never again!  I’m taking that $120 a month and buying me new kitchen toys, because with the help of my favorite kitchen appliance, we all can now make our own Pressure Cooker Chia Water!

If your drawing a blank right now on what chia seeds are, let me catch you up.

Chia seeds are a powerhouse in a tiny package.

They are loaded with antioxidants, fiber, and protein and help to keep you full and energized for a LONG time.  My kids never ask me for snacks when we have steel cut oats with chia seeds for breakfast!

They are also great for digestion and keep things moving, oh so smoothly.  I’ll refrain from diving into that point any further, because this is a food blog and I’m not supposed to ruin appetites ????

I love to use chia seeds in recipes like Mason Jar Steel Cut Oats, Pumpkin Spice Steel Cut Oats, as well as fruit compotes and smoothies.  And now, in Chia Water!

Pressure Cooker Chia Water is amazingly easy and I’m kicking myself that it took me this long to think of it.

Just pick out a flavor of Pressure Cooker Infused Water (or one from this Fall edition of Infused Water or Holiday Edition), strain out your fruit, add chia seeds to the piping hot flavored water, then let it sit until the chia seeds expand and create a clear, gel like appearance around them.

Chill it in the refrigerator and voila!  You have a quart of Pressure Cooker Chia Water for a fraction of the price of store-bought!  Shake it up, pour you a glass, and enjoy it with a cute straw.  My husband says the straw is completely unnecessary though.  So if you want to listen to the guy who thinks pineapple on pizza is a sin, then go ahead and omit the straw ????

Last tip: store-bought Chia Water is typically loaded with sugar.  You can leave your homemade version completely unsweetened, or like my husband and kids prefer, add just a bit of honey, maple syrup, or sugar to sweeten it up a bit.

Enjoy!

Oh boy. i thought it said put the lid back on and turn the instant pot back on for 10 minutes :(. Hopefully I didn’t ruin it! The infused water smelled so good before, but now it doesn’t smell so good after pressure cooking for 10 minutes with chia seeds!

I hope it turned out okay! I’m worried that might have tasted strong of chia.

Love chia seeds! The only issue I have with them is their high calorie count. They are 70 calories per tablespoon.

Cheryl, True. I feel their nutritional value is 100% worth those calories though!
